Donald "Don" Allen, of Elmwood, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, July 06, 2021. He was 80.

Born in Sudbury on October 20, 1940 to the late James and Hazel (nee Watson) Allen. Don was employed with Hallman Motors for a few years then in the Maintenance Department with Canada Spool & Bobbin for many years until the closing of the factory. He was a man that tinkered around with vehicles and ended up doing auto body repairs, being his own boss. Don always had time to chat and visit with friends, just to catch up on their lives and what was what around town. He would greet customers at the "Caboose" and sit a while when they enjoyed their ice cream.

Survived by son David (Tanya) Allen of Hanover and daughter Carol (Jeff) Holtham of Waterloo. Loved papa of Dominic, Emma and Aaron. Don will be fondly remembered by his brothers Larry Allen and Keith Allen both of Hanover as well as his relatives from the Metzger side. Remembered by nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth (nee Metzger) Allen in 2019.
