Richard Monteith "Monty" Bailey, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at his
home in Hanover on Thursday March 2nd 2023. He was 61.
Born in Bentinck Township on July 5, 1961 to the late Don and Dolores
(nee Rier) Bailey. Monty enjoyed growing up and working on the family
dairy and beef farm alongside his brothers and parents and loved all
animals. Many will remember Monty from his years working as a heavy
equipment operator in construction. Monty was an easy-going and laid
back soul and loved spending time with his family, friends, his sidekick
Arlo and his best friend and partner Marlene.
Survived by his loving partner and best friend Marlene Lina of Hanover.
Fondly remembered by his siblings Jerry (Kathy) of Desboro, Bruce
(Sharon) of Tara, Laurie (Shelley) of Hanover, sister-in-law Kathy of
Elmwood, brother-in-law Paul Dirstein of Walkerton and step-son Cody
Lina of London. Also remembered by many other nieces, nephews,
friends, relatives, and their families. Predeceased by his parents, sister
Bonnie, brother Bev and father-in-law John Dirstein. Also predeceased
by his long time fur buddy Chelsea.
Cremation has taken place. A casual public graveside memorial
Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at Chesley Cemetery
Columbarium – please stay tuned for date and details to be announced.
