Obituaries

James ‘Jim’ Charles Greenwood, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was 73. 

Born in Markham, Ontario, on August 28, 1949, to the late James and Roselene (nee Taylor) Greenwood.  Jim was a quiet, kind, and smart man, who could fix almost anything he was asked to.  Many may remember 'Jimmy' from his many years working at Morry's Trailers fixing camp trailers and camper furnaces and stoves. He was never one to be the center of attention, but was always there to lend an ear or help out whenever called upon. He will be missed. 

Survived by loving wife Erlene Witter of Hanover, and children Angela Witter and Mike Witter (Kamara Plant) both of Hanover, Brian Wittich of Toronto, Janine (Jamie) Sim of Durham, and David Wittich of Hanover. Special grandpa of Carter, Riley, Mileena, Monica, Shawn, and Jessica.  Fondly remembered by siblings Rosalyn (Murray) Lembke of Ayton, Paul (Nancy) Greenwood of Goderich, and Karen (Tim) Virtanen of Nobel, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. Predeceased by his parents, and daughter-in-law Nelly Wittich. 

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, where a Funeral Service will follow on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 11 am. Father Romelito Guillen officiating. Inurnment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
