David Solomon Grubb, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover Care Centre on Monday, September 2, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was 90.Â
Born on December 23, 1933, in Carrick Township, to the late Louis and Irene (nee Schenkel) Grubb. Dave enjoyed growing up on the farm and life in the country - although he lived in Hanover for a brief period of time, it wasn't long until his love for the country saw him move back to the outskirts of Hanover to a hobby farm. Dave married love of his life, Geraldine Weber, and together they enjoyed raising their 3 children, and eventually became proud grandparents to their 4 grandchildren. Many people may remember Dave from his many years working at Sklar Peppler furniture factory, and those who knew Dave well, knew that he was a handy guy that could help out in almost any line of work. He was a long-time member of Holy Family Church in Hanover and the Knights of Columbus, and he loved playing cards with the various groups around Hanover and the surrounding communities. He will be missed.Â
Survived by children Brian (Sue) of Hanover, Marilyn (John) Allison of Owen Sound, and Bruce (Julie) of Guelph. Proud 'Papa' of Michael, Brittany, Helen, and Daniel. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and in-laws and their families. Predeceased by his wife Geraldine, his parents, his stepmother, Annie Grubb, his sisters, Florence Meyer, Marjorie Moyer, Anne Ertel, Leona Lunz, Rita (in infancy), Betty Ertel, and Theresa Doerr and his brothers, Philip, Ralph, and Joe.Â
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Father Romalito Guillen officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.Â
