It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Thomas Doersam, of RR#1 Elmwood. Pete passed away after a sudden diagnosis of cancer, surrounded by his loving family at Chapman House Residential Hospice on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.  He was 54.

Survived by devoted, loving wife and best friend, Tammy (nee Woods). Loved and cherished father and fishing partner of Owen (Rayne), Cole and Kyra (Trent). He will be missed by his fur babies Diesel and Molly.  Pete had a special place in his heart for his sister Lisa Doersam and her daughter Ashley (Justin, Cappella), and his brother Dan (Maggie) Doersam and their children Brittany, Holli (Damian, Harper, Kash and Brooks), Jessica (Braden) and Matt (Suji). Special son in law of Mel and Linda Woods. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Patti Ottewell and her children Georgia (Cory, Grace and Lila), and Morgan (Shauna), and his brother-in-law John (Margaret) Woods and their children Kim (Scott, Jackson, Mary, Sam and Eva), Ryan (Bentley, Channing and Elle), and Logan. Pete was the "funcle" (fun uncle) in the family and had a great bond with all his nieces, nephews and their families. He enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them and loved them dearly. He was always so happy to have Corry and Trevor (and pups) home for a visit from Fort McMurray. Pete will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his entire extended families. Predeceased by his parents, Tom and Pat Doersam and brother-in-law Randy Bester.

To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 06, 2024 at the Elmwood Community Centre from 1 - 4 pm. Please dress casual (jeans, hoodies and hats) as that's how Pete rolled.

Memorial donations to the Chapman House (https://www.greybrucehospice.com/) or to the Saugeen Hospice (https://www.saugeenhospice.ca/) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.  Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca
