Ruth Botting of Hanover. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at McVean Lodge in Hanover, Ruth (Harris) Botting passed away at the age of 95 years. 

Ruth was a loving mother to seven children, Marguerite (Colin McKinnon) Botting, Doreen (Fred) Wilken, Kathleen (Don) Pletsch, Judy (Marv) Sachs, Leonard (Tonie) Botting, Shirley (Gary) Breig, and John (Karen) Botting. 

She was adored by her fourteen grandchildren, Ken, Brian, Tim, Anne, Melissa, Laura, Stephen, Joel, Darryl, Denis, Giles, Sara, Teile and Joreigh. 

Granny will be remembered with smiles by her eleven great grandchildren, Camden, Grayson, Bryce, Noah, Raine, Charlotte, Katelyn, Danielle, Chase, Ara and Poppy. 

She is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Georgina Harris and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Albert (Bert) Botting in 2001 and by her parents,   Robert and Marguerite (Owen) Harris. Also by her brothers James (Phyllis) Harris, Ross (Marg) Harris, Bingham Harris and her sister Mary (Alec) Coleman. 

Ruth was born in Burlington and her childhood was spent in several locations in the area. Since 1961, Ruth has resided in the Hanover area where she and Bert bought Allen Brothers of Hanover. The two were married in 1944 for 57 years until Bert's death. 

Ruth was noted for her gentle and quiet manner. She was a friend to many, beloved by her family and will be deeply missed. 

Friends are invited to a Funeral Service at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Interment in Hanover Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation – Garden of Fond Memories would be appreciated by the family.
