Marilyn Florence Spencer

Marilyn Florence Spencer (nee McCurrie), of Hanover, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Hanover and District Hospital on Saturday, April 25, 2026. She was 77.

Born on November 30, 1948 in Belfast, Ireland to the late William and Irene (nee Patterson) McCurrie.

Marilyn was a kind person with a heart of gold. She was a member of Hope Community Church and loved serving the Lord. She had a gift of baking and hospitality and always wanted to help others. She was either baking you a gift or she was praying for you. Usually both!

Survived by devoted husband of almost 50 years John “Jack” Spencer of Hanover. Loved mother of Chris (Jenn) Spencer. Adored grandmother of Cassidy and Hailey as well as her fur grandbaby “Remi”, the Bernese Colli Retriever, that loved her more than anything. Fondly remembered by her younger brothers Mike (Mary) McCurrie of Calgary, Colin (Nancy) McCurrie and Kevin (Sharon) McCurrie both of Campbell River, B.C. She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families as well as her extended family in Ireland. Predeceased by her parents.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Celebration at Hope Community Church, Hanover on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Pastor Terry DenBok officiating. Private family inurnment in Hanover Columbarium.
