Obituaries

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Albert Jacob Klein at his home in Mildmay on Sunday October 1, 2023. He was 72. Albert was born on April 12, 1951, in Ermelo, Holland. He later travelled to Canada on the boat with his parents. He was only 6 weeks old at the time! They settled in what used to be called Weston, now it is part of the GTA. Albert, his sister Sylvia, and his brother Richard grew up in the city, but Albert decided to come to Bruce County with his wife when his two daughters Carri and Christina were young. He still travelled back and forth from his job in the city (at Dixie and Eglinton) every weekend to see his family. He loved to be in his vehicle either driving around, or just sitting watching his daughters play baseball. He would even drop the girls off at Wonderland or the Mall and be happy to just sit there and wait!

In 2014 Albert married his wife Tracy and they were able to have many adventures over the years. From camping, to just going for drives around the province it was enough to just spend time together. One time they even went to Quebec, and did you know they only speak French there? Even in Tim Hortons when all you want is a coffee, you must tell them in French! If you want to know how he felt about the Island of PEI, you should ask Tracy! Albert loved his family and spending time with them was his life. In recent years, he loved to watch his grandchildren grow and play.

Albert is survived by his wife Tracy Klein, his daughters Carri Blue (Larry) and Christina Klein (Alecia), his stepsons Steve Caskenette (Catherine) and Brad Caskenette, his sister Sylvia Murphy (Wayne), his brother Richard Klein. His grandchildren Alexis, Lola, Lillie, Oshawa, Brody, Aubree and his honorary grandchildren Kinsley and Addelyn. Albert is predeceased by his parents Albert Klein Sr (1990) and Gerry (Gerritje) Klein-Ebbers (2017).

Albert will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held on October 21, 2023, at the Knights of Columbus Community Hall between Walkerton and Mildmay (1658 Highway 9, Mildmay, ON). The Celebration will run from 12 pm to 6 pm. This is a children friendly event as Albert loved to watch his grandchildren play. It will be a come and go type of gathering with Pastor Paul saying a few words too.

Arrangements entrusted to Greg Roberts Funeral Home, Mildmay.
