Obituaries

Wayne Charles Emke, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Saturday, February 10, 2024. He was 75. 

Born in Hanover on March 7, 1948 to the late Louis and Mary (nee Noble) Emke. Wayne was employed with Hanover Kitchens as well as taking on job duties as an Industrial Electrician. He was very handy doing any type of work, even dabbling with carpentry. He enjoyed time with friends and family as well as his dog. 

Survived by wife Eileen (nee Reay) of Hanover. Dear father of Bernadette (Ken) Jones of Stratford, Tina (Dennis) Artuso, Christina (Shawn) Kieffer both of Hanover and Becky (Pete) Maifrini of Elmwood. Special grandpa of Jade, Paige, Alison, Kenzie, Ryerson, Sawyer, Alexia (Zach), Serena, Sheldon, Morgan, Ben, Lucas, Adam, Michah, Aubre, Elijah and great grandpa of Mason, Lincoln and Matteo.

He will be fondly remembered by the Reay Family and "wonder dog" Abbey, his beloved fur baby golden retriever. Wayne will be missed by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, first wife Sue Ann (nee Diemert),  brother Ron (Burnette 'Nettie') Emke and his grandson Rilley. 

To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Graveside Service will be held in the spring at the Hanover Cemetery. Pastor Fred Ludolph officiating.
