Bernice Witte (nee Mighton), passed away on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, 2 days before her 93rd birthday.
Born in Bentinck Township on June 16th, 1932 to George and Alice (nee Stinson) Mighton. Bernice lived on the farm until she married Ken. Bernice and Ken moved to Durham and then to Guelph where she worked at Hammond Manufacturing until she retired then they were able to enjoy their retirement plan. Bernice was a devoted member of the Guelph Seniors Club and the Stone Road Mall Coffee Club where lots of lifelong new friends were made. As time went by after her beloved Ken’s death, Bernice moved to Saint Luke’s Place in Cambridge where she enjoyed the company and activities and making new friends.
Survived by her brother Tom (Marion) Mighton of Guelph, sister- in- law Shirley Goldsmith of Durham and brother- in- law Orville Witte. Predeceased by her husband Ken, brothers Emmerson Mighton, Robert (Phyllis) Mighton, sister Lois (Wilbert) Wiechers, sister- in- law Doris (Milford) Witte, brothers in law Clarence (Dorothy) Witte and Oliver.
“Niece-y” will be deeply missed by her God daughter, nieces, nephews and their families.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation and Celebration of her Life at Mighton Funeral Home in Hanover, on Friday, June 20th, 2025 from 6pm – 8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at 10 am. Pastor Lyndsay McGregor officiating. Interment to follow in Durham Cemetery.

Bernice was always the kind of person always wanting the best for anyone she knew. She was known to pay it forward and do nice things for her friends and family, or anyone in need.
