Julia “Judy” Lucille Beirnes, formerly of Hanover, passed away at Lee Manor Nursing Home in Owen Sound on Monday, September 1, 2025.
She was 95.
Born on November 12, 1929 to the late Adolf and Viola (nee Crampton) Schopf. Better known as Judy or by her great grandkids as "Grandma Judy", she always had a warmth about her. She enjoyed her career as a Dental Assistant and truly cared about peoples smiles.
Survived by loving sons Stephen (Melody) Beirnes of Owen Sound and Charles (Lily) Beirnes of Hanover. Dearly loved grandmother of David, Amanda, Michael (Stephanie), Jennifer (Brandon), Rebecca (Jeff), John (Britt) and great grandma "Judy" to Cash, Jack, Kylie, Blake, Brooke, Liam, Braydon and Corbin. Fondly remembered by her siblings Chloe Gonder, Barb (Terry) Mitchell, Betty Schopf and brother- in- law Ken Schaack. Julie will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband John, son Tom, brothers Gord, Addie, Ronald, Rodney, Lewis and sisters Helene, Kathleen, Bonnie, Carolyn and Wilma.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 am, at Grace United Church, Hanover. Pastor Jenn Brown officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.
