Daniel James Murphy, of RR#2 Walkerton, passed away at Grey-Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Thursday, August 17, 2023. He was 66. 

Born in Walkerton on August 29, 1956, to John and Rosemary (nee Scoles) Murphy.  Many people will remember Daniel from his 40+ years of service working at Bruce Power as a Nuclear Operator.  Daniel was a kind and caring man who was always willing to help anyone in need.  He was a dedicated and passionate Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and he loved to go out and support local restaurants and pubs and enjoy their food and drinks and socializing with staff and customers.  Above all, Danny loved his family.  He was a proud brother and uncle, and was always busy ensuring family gatherings were planned and organized, especially the family Christmas gatherings and summer birthday parties that he hosted. 

Survived by parents John and Rosemary Murphy of Hanover.  Loved brother of Michael (Ursula) Murphy of Saugeen Shores, Jim (Joanne) Murphy of Walkerton, Marylou (Gord) Archer of Orangeville, Helen (Keith) Elliott of Newmarket, and Kathy (David) Ermel of Hanover.  Proud uncle of Katie, Siobhan, Kevin, Reaghen, Alison, Evan, Emily, Madison, Liam, Sean, Makenzie, and Kyle. Fondly remembered by close friend Tina Scott of Hanover. Predeceased by his wife Estela (nee Nuarte) Murphy. 

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover.
