Obituaries

Lavina Fritz, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover Care Centre on Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was 98. 

Born in Normanby Township, daughter of the late George and Emma (nee Becker) Lantz. She enjoyed farm life and loved working side by side with Lloyd. When she wasn’t working outside, she was in the kitchen cooking, baking and canning for family, friends and neighbours. They retired to Hanover in 1991 where they enjoyed their second home making memories with their grandchildren and making many new friends within the wonderful neighbourhood. 

Survived by her children Merle (Alan) Cronin, Kathy (Wayne) Sickel, Joan (Richard) Schnurr and Wayne (Dennice) Fritz. Lovingly remembered by her dear grandchildren Daryl (Tracy), Dean (Julie), Dana (Carol), Jason (Samantha), Julie, Meagan (Ty), Emily (Jesse), Ashlee (Andy), Mikkayla (Ben) and adored by her great grandchildren Nicholas, Nathan, Chase and Blake.  Fondly remembered by her brother Harold (Hazel) Lantz, brother in law Melvin Janke and sister in law Doreen Lantz as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd, son Murray, great granddaughter Natalie Cronin, brothers John (Violet), Ezra (Alice) Lantz, George Lantz, sisters Elizabeth (Milton) Russell, Katherine (Arnold) Russell, Alma Janke, Emma (George) Weber and brother in law Wilfred Weppler. 

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 6-8pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday,  October 11, 2023 at 11:00 am.  Rev. Harry Huff officiating. Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Ayton, ON.
