Dahms, Violet (nee Dietz)
Passed away at sunrise on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Brucelea Haven Long Term Care Home at the age of 102. Beloved wife of the late Milton Dahms. Loving mother of William (Linda) and Darlene (Steve Vanderkolff). Proud grandma of Jared (Amy), Sarah and Claire and great-grandma of Liam and Lydia. She was predeceased by her parents Elfrieda and Henry Dietz, her brothers Wilfred, Theodore (Ted), Norman, Nelson, Clarence and Gordon and her sister Florence Metcalf. Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family from her generation.
Violet was born on May 31, 1921 in Normanby Township. She married Milton on October 17, 1953 and together they raised their family and farmed on the 2nd Concession of Carrick. Violet always considered the farm to be her true home. Violet was an avid gardener, piano player, card player, quilter and loved to dance.
Visitation will be held at the Greg Roberts Funeral Home, Mildmay, ON on Monday December 18, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held in St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Mildmay on Tuesday December 19, 2023 at 2 pm. Internment in St. Matthew Cemetery, Mildmay.
