Obituaries

Bruce Conrad Albert Henry Wiseman of Mildmay - husband, father, grandfather, and an active member of the neighbourhood - passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 21st, 2024, at Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound, in his 78th year. Born on May 20th, 1946, to proud parents Roy and Mildred (née Gerhardt) Wiseman, who owned and operated the Wiseman Family Farm on RR#3. Bruce grew up surrounded by the beauty of the farm’s hills, creek, and pine trees developing a deep love for farming from an early age.

As he matured into adulthood, Bruce honed his skills as a carpenter and dedicated himself to maintaining and expanding the family farm. His passion for agriculture included beef cattle, sheep, and pigs in addition to welcoming numerous other animals to the ‘zoo’ over the years.

Bruce was survived by his wife of 45 years, Frances (née Miller), daughter Jessica (Dave) of Calgary, son Andrew (Heather) of Mildmay, grandchildren Lincoln and Aurelia, sister Diane Williams (John) of Atwood, and nephews Chris, Keith, Kent, and Kevin. He will be missed by numerous cousins, neighbours, and an ever expanding circle of friends. He loved taking his two grandchildren on journeys through the farm on the four-wheeler and sharing with them the beautiful elements of farm life. Bruce was locally known for his extensive chainsaw collection and fondness of antique tractors.

A Celebration of Life will be held the afternoon of May 19, 2024, at the Neustadt Lions Park.

As expressions of sympathy, the family encourages donations to Residential Hospice of Gre-Bruce (Chapman House), Saugeen Hospice, or Canadian Cancer Society. Donations and condolences may be made online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
