Douglas Richard Elmer Weidner, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, Hanover on Monday, May 26, 2025 at age 68.Â
Born on June 6, 1956 in Hanover, Ontario, to Murray 'Lance' and Audrey (nee Magwood) Weidner. Doug was a fun-loving man, who took great pride in everything he did. Many people will remember Doug from his various jobs in kitchen design, working with Hanover Kitchens, Morrow’s and finishing his career at Hanover Home Hardware. He used his talents to help his community with various charitable initiatives; notably, the new kitchen upgrade at the Home & Community Support Services’ Day Away Program Facility at Hanover & District Hospital he built through Hanover Home Hardware and his Possibility Tours. Doug also loved nature, particularly old-growth forests and undisturbed wilderness. He loved adventures at a family cottage on Temagami Island and enjoyed capturing nature's beauty through photography. He always enjoyed a good game of cards as well – Euchre, Solo, Cribbage, and more. Doug has left a lasting impact on his family, friends, clients, and community. He will be missed.Â
